Phase 2 – Visioning and Objectives

The second phase of The Blue Mountains Future Story is drawing to a close, and we thank everyone for their insightful feedback. What we’ve learned in Phase 2 of the Future Story project will give us a long-term vision and goals to guide us into Phase 3: Action Planning, anticipated to take place this fall and into early winter 2022. Stay tuned for opportunities to get involved in November 2021!

Phase 2 involved a variety of engagement methods including a public survey, business survey, five themed workshops, three Future Story Café workshops, and a mobile kiosk. We are now working to synthesize what we heard from you into a summary report, which will be presented to Council and shared publicly in the fall. Thank you again for your ongoing participation as we move forward with the development of the Community Sustainability Plan.

A Current State Report summarizing the findings from the first phase of the Future Story project is available here and in the Documents section of this website. This report, based on research and community perspectives about the ‘current state’ of The Blue Mountains, provides a starting point to build on as we envision our sustainable future in Phase 2.

Project Overview

The Town of The Blue Mountains is creating a Community Sustainability Plan to ensure the Town and its residents, workers and visitors thrive for generations to come. We're calling this the TBM Future Story. The plan development process will include discussions around how we can help to ensure a prosperous, livable, and healthy future for all. We want to hear your ideas on ways we can make the most of what we love about The Blue Mountains and our community while supporting changes that make life here even better.
