Technology Incubator - Tech Hub - Boot Camp -Software Coders/programmers - Learn and Work
Software coding/programming will replace blue collar jobs. Every industry - on a global scale - has demand for development & maintenance of software such as mobile phone apps, cybersecurity, blockchain, automotive technology, financial tech, and the list is endless - including washing machines and dryers with built-in wifi!! For this demographic, The Blue Mountains is an attractive place to live, play and work, and then hopefully grow a family. The job opportunities abound in technology and with the capabilities to remote work Blue Mountains already offers infrastructure to support this with reasonably fast internet (Rogers).
The incubator would focus on those interested in learning coding languages and could further mentor entrepreneurs with support for new business idea development in those fields. Coding competitions (called hackathons) are held regularly around the world and, as local competencies expand, the incubator could develop teams to compete in these hackathons which then builds local reputation. As reputation for turning out coders grows, large tech firms would sponsor events or subsidize incubator training (think Canadian biz icons Rogers, Blackberry, IBM, Shopify, etc. )
