Economic Development Strategy

Overview

The Blue Mountains has experienced significant growth and development over the past decade. As a true four-season destination, The Blue Mountains has an abundance of unique culinary, recreational, and cultural features.

The creation of an Economic Development Strategy for the Town of The Blue Mountains is important to ensure that our community grows in an economically viable and sustainable manner. The new five-year Economic Development Strategy is being developed in partnership with the Economic Development Advisory Committee and the Ontario Ministry of Agricultural Food and Rural Affairs. This strategy is expected to be published by summer 2020.

How you can help

To develop a successful Economic Development Strategy, consultation and feedback from local business leaders will play an essential role within the development of the strategy. The Economic Development Business Community and Public/Resident Survey is now CLOSED.

The results from this survey will be reviewed and analyzed by the Economic Development Advisory Committee and Town staff. The outcomes will be used to develop the action items and specific tactics within the strategy.

Business Community Workshops

The upcoming Business Community Workshops will be used to provide a summary of the survey data with a focus on diving deeper into the common trends and themes of the results. The goal is to gain a deeper level of insight and feedback from businesses through a facilitated discussion.

If interested in attending either Business Community Workshop, please email Jeremy Chan at economicdevelopment@thebluemountains.ca to RSVP with your workshop selection. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
